The Linden Tree: Sculpture with Clay Arabesque design in red clay, by Marley, before drying. Because of the small diameter of the various parts -- the overall size is about 5x5" -- there is danger that some of the joints will separate as it dries and shrinks. If this happens (as it did), the piece can be fixed after firing by mixing dry powdered clay with glue and using it as a patching material.
